Only about 30 copies of "Animosity" were duplicated when the album was released in 1988 on cassette. I recently found a few copies and I am making them available for purchase. A slightly different track listing with one composition "Implosion" only available on this cassette release, replaced with "Birdhouse Metropolis" on the digital version.

about

Recorded direct to digital (live) between projects during 1986 & 1988 and released in the summer of 1988 on cassette, Animosity is an album of primarily instrumental experiments, some in collaboration with Jamie Haggerty who played on "Concrete" and "Snake Oil". All pieces composed by Daniel Crommie except "There Once Was a City", which has lyrics written by Peire Cardenal in the 13th century.

"There Once Was A City" hits home like a less exuberant and decidedly down in the mouth OMD, until the spoken vocal which utilises words written by Peire Cardenal in the 13th century adds an eerie and remote atmosphere. However "Still Life" is the album's shock moment, the quiet, almost ambient ringing chimes overtly opposed to the modern (for the time) electronics found elsewhere, its slow beautiful sprawl genuinely ear catching, beautiful, out of place and wonderful." - Sea of Tranquility
