about

Something of an anomaly in their nearly 30 year musical canon, Hinterland is Group Du Jour’s only all-instrumental album – which might seem odd if you heard them live, since they always performed a generous dollop of improvisational material interspersed with their original songs. Many listeners would inquire if there was a collection of these atmospheric interludes and sometimes (as you will hear) energetic workouts. In 1989 this collection was released on cassette to satisfy this demand. This compilation has been upgraded to include two more recent nuggets and an additional live performance.
