about

Something of an anomaly in the their nearly 30 year musical canon, Hinterland is Group Du Jour’s only all-instrumental album – which might seem odd if you heard them in live, since they always performed a generous dollop of improvisational material interspersed with their original songs. Many listeners would inquire if there was a collection of these atmospheric interludes and (sometimes, as you will hear) energetic workouts. In 1989 this collection was released on cassette to satisfy this demand. This compilation has been upgraded to include some more recent nuggets in addition to a trio of period live performances.
