about

a·phe·li·on | əˈfēlēən |
noun (plural aphelia | əˈfēlēə | or aphelions) Astronomy
the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun: Mars is at aphelion. The opposite of perihelion.

"Journey to the Aphelion" is CD2 of the double disc "Perihelion Chronicle / Journey to the Aphelion" album - each album can be downloaded separately, or get both albums as a package.

Back in the peak vinyl LP days this would constitute a triple LP. Recorded over an eight month period, this double CD travelogue includes over 124 minutes of new electro-acoustic hybrids: psychedelic electro-jazz, ambient folk tunes, organic synthesis and noisy progressive rock with acid jazz overtones. Dave Thatcher contributed congas and bongos and Eldon Hardenbrook played fretless bass on one track. Lots of flutes (often processed via various electronics), synthesizers (both analogue and digital), fourth-world percussion rhythms as well as electric dulcimer.
