about

"Mainly known for his electronic/rock work with bands Group Du Jour and Echo System, as well as his own solo albums, Crommie (vocals, flute, buche, cornamuse and other instruments) turns to acoustic Medieval music on this new release with Leslie Gray (violin) and Jamie Haggerty (various percussion). Most of the music comprises 12th and 13th-century tunes, such as three versions of “Salterello,” “Kalenda Maya,” “Bacche, Bene Venies” and “Danse Royale,” but there are a few traditional sounding, original tunes like the excellent, mystical “She Has Wings” and the dynamic “Chasing Your Tail” (which has a bit of a country flair). This is a fun, well-played collection, refreshingly different from most of Crommie’s output."
